Established in 1904, Brooweena State School has a proud past and is committed to educating students for a successful future. Our mission is to provide a supportive and challenging environment where each child has the opportunity to develop their potential.

The school motto: Believe, achieve, succeed encompasses a broad range of teaching and learning which occurs in the classrooms of Brooweena State School. We strive for the highest levels of literacy and numeracy, while teaching lifelong learning skills to our students.

Brooweena caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students receive a personalised and differentiated curriculum, tailored to suit their learning needs and styles. Our dedicated, qualified and experienced staff continues to cater for individual learning needs using intervention and extension programs. This is achieved through the application of a variety of teaching methods, including explicit instruction, group-based models, 1:1 support, small group instruction and individually assigned tasks. It is these customised methods that make Brooweena such a productive small school.

The Department of Education is committed to ensuring Queensland children and families have access to a kindergarten program wherever they live.

The department provides kindergarten programs in selected approved State Schools in communities where families would otherwise not have access to a kindergarten program. Kindergarten is proudly provided at our school 5 days per fortnight. We offer an approved kindergarten program delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher to children who are at least four years old by 30 June in the year they start the program.

Please see the enrolments tab for information on how to register your child.

Brooweena State School operates within the principles of a Supportive School Environment. Student Code of Conduct practices apply to all children, as we focus on providing a safe and supportive environment. Our high expectations of student conduct are generally achieved.

Our values of respect, responsibility, care and compassion, doing your best and valuing lifelong learning are continuously and actively promoted throughout the school year.

Our supportive and friendly community is represented by a hard-working Parents and Citizens Association (P&C).

We are a very proud school. Our friendly, enthusiastic and happy environment is held in high regard by staff, students and community.

We thank you for your interest in our school.

Mrs Peta Bullen
